What types of organisations exhibit at ABE?
All sorts of organisations exhibit at ABE from sole traders through to large, national companies. We don’t have any restrictions on industry so everyone is welcome whether you are a ‘cottage industry’ type business, part of a large corporate, charity or public sector. At ABE2024, industries represented were Accountancy/Finance, Building Services/Utilities, Business Services, Charity, Design and Print, Environmental, Events/Catering, Health/Wellbeing/Leisure, HR/Recruitment, Insurance, IT/Telecoms, Legal Services, Managed Offices/Office Services, Marketing/Digital Media, Retail, Training/Education and Vehicles/Transport/Logistics.
Does your organisation have to be based in Suffolk to exhibit or sponsor?
ABE takes place in Ipswich so lots of our exhibitors and sponsors have a base in the county but we also attract organisations from Cambridgeshire, Essex, London, Norfolk and even further afield. In fact, if you are based outside of Suffolk but looking to break into our local marketplace, there isn’t anywhere better to promote what you offer.
How many attendees are there?
Pre-covid, we averaged around 800 attendees with the biggest year being just over 1,500 but after the pandemic, this dropped down a little to around 500 which was understandable because people were a little nervous to go into busy places. Since then, the numbers have increased slightly each year and at ABE2024, we had around 650 attendees although feedback from exhibitors was that the quality of visitors was very high and they were all having worthy conversations with those that visited their stands. We will continue to work hard to promote ABE across a variety of channels to attract as many visitors as possible and cement our event as the number one B2B event in the local business calendar.
How much do stands cost?
As a not for profit organisation, we try very hard to keep our stands affordable so that the exhibition is accessible to as many businesses as possible. Our stands start at £285.00 + VAT for non members and £225.00 + VAT for ISSBA members for a 2m x 1m space. We also have shelled booths, larger stands, premium stands and sponsorships available so there should be something to suit every budget.
Who can become a sponsor?
We have a variety of different sponsor packages to suit different budgets starting with our Silver Sponsor option which is only £950 + VAT. All sponsorships come with additional benefits and these vary according to the package chosen. We also have some ‘add-on’ options which can be booked alongside a normal exhibitor stand such as TV ads which display on screens in the exhibition centre (£30 + VAT) and goody bag inserts (£150 + VAT) meaning there is something affordable for everyone. At the other end of the scale, we have our Strategic Partner and Diamond Sponsor options which offer large stands in very prominent positions along with lots of other benefits to really help you make an impact.
Is there a deadline for booking a stand or sponsorship?
Technically you could book right up until a couple of days before the exhibition but booking later means you might not get the position or type of stand you want and you run the risk that stands might all be sold out so you could miss out entirely. Also consider that that the earlier you book, the more time you have to plan your stand, let people know that you’ll be there and invite your contacts and customers to come and see you there. We have a press/sponsor launch in late February/early March so if you are thinking about becoming a sponsor – it is worth doing it before that because it is another chance for some extra PR.
How do I book?
Click here to see the stand layout and choose your stand type and location. The grey stands are booked already but if you click them, you will see who has booked them. Clicking on the other stands shows you the details such as type, price etc. For exhibitor stands, there is also a button to book so simply follow it through. If you are planning on joining ISSBA to get the member discounted rate, remember to do this first. If you are interested in a sponsor stand, there is a sponsor brochure to download which shows you all of the different packages and prices.
