Chair Report - July 2024

ISSBA Chair, Graham Barton, offers a snapshot of the latest ISSBA news

Graham Barton Jan 2023Hello and welcome to ISSBA’s July newsletter. Holiday season is well underway and I hope you have some lovely plans for the summer, whether you are going away or staying at home.

Thank you to everyone that attended our AGM in June and huge thanks to Riverhills who kindly hosted and sponsored the event. Everyone had a lovely evening and as always, the buffet was delicious!

Our July networking event takes place on 24th July at A Listers at Aurora on the Ipswich Waterfront. It is a lovely venue with stunning views so we hope you will join us there. Book your place here.

Exhibitor stands for Anglia Business Exhibition 2025 will go on sale in September so watch this space for further details. In the meantime, our team will be busy speaking to potential sponsors for our 2025 exhibition so if you are interested, get in touch on contact@angliabusinessexhibition.com to find out more. Read our ABE update here.

We are delighted to be supporting Suffolk Mind as our charity of the year for 2024-25. They are our July Member of the Month - find out all about them here.

Groundwork East have kindly written our business focus article this month. Read their piece titled ‘Free Net Zero support available for Suffolk SMEs’.

We always like to hear your feedback and are very grateful for any reviews. Reviews can be left via Google or Suffolk Business Directory. If you have any suggestions or questions about ISSBA, please get in touch via mail@issba.co.uk.

Would you be interested in joining the ISSBA committee? If so, let us know on mail@issba.co.uk. We are a friendly bunch and usually meet once per month (via Zoom currently). As well as having a say in how the organisation is run, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your profile in the local area. Get in touch if you’d like to know more.

Don’t forget our Recommend a Friend scheme, it is great to see ISSBA members benefiting from this. Any current ISSBA member will get one month's free membership for each new member they recommend, plus the new member also gets one free month, so Win-Win! There are no limits to how many referrals each ISSBA member can make as long as you have a current, paid up membership, so if you bring in 12 new members, you'll get a whole year for free!

GoCardless is making the renewal process much easier for many of our members. If you haven’t signed up yet, either let us know on mail@issba.co.uk or keep an eye on your inbox for an authorisation request. GoCardless is a direct debit system fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and means that you never need to worry about forgetting to renew again.  By signing up to this you will help your committee save valuable time in chasing renewals, so please, if you aren’t already signed up, please do!
