Chair Report - October 2020

ISSBA Chair, Graham Barton, offers a snapshot of the latest ISSBA news

Graham BartonHello all, welcome to the ISSBA October newsletter. The nights are drawing in and the weather hasn’t been great but ISSBA are here to brighten up your day!

Our second ABE Virtual Summit on Tuesday 8th September was a fantastic day with 159 visitor registrations. Huge thanks to all that took part and attended. Read a full review of this event written by Kate Kelly, Business Plumber.

Join us on 14th October for our next online networking event. Free to attend, book your place here.

Anglia Business Spotlight 2020 will be taking place virtually on 11th November and we are delighted to welcome Georgy Jamieson back to conduct the interviews with our lucky panel members. This promises to be a great event so book now!

We will be using Airmeet for Anglia Business Spotlight this year as well as our networking event on 14th October. Read our Business Focus piece to find out all about what it offers along with some useful information.

Our October member of the month is Don’t Pop Me Now. They launched their brand new business during lockdown. We wish them every success and welcome them as new ISSBA members.

Would you like to join the ISSBA committee? If so, let us know on mail@issba.co.uk as we currently have openings for a couple of new members to join our team. We are a friendly bunch and usually meet once per month (via Zoom currently!). As well as having a say in how the organisation is run, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your profile in the local area. Get in touch if you’d like to know more.

Anglia Business Exhibition will take place on 12th May 2021 at Trinity Park. 2021 will be the 25th anniversary of the exhibition so join us in celebrating this special milestone. Make sure you’ve booked your stand, prices start at just £195 plus VAT and they are selling quickly. Visit www.angliabusinessexhibition.com to book or email contact@angliabusinessexhibition.com for further info or to discuss sponsorship packages. Read our latest ABE news here!

Our Charity of the Year this year is Jetty Lane. You can read their latest news here.

Don’t forget our Recommend a Friend scheme, it is great to see ISSBA members benefiting from this. Any current ISSBA member will get one month's free membership for each new member they recommend, plus the new member also gets one free month, so Win-Win! There are no limits to how many referrals each ISSBA member can make as long as you have a current, paid up membership, so if you bring in 12 new members, you'll get a whole year for free!

GoCardless is making the renewal process much easier for many of our members. If you haven’t signed up yet, either let us know on mail@issba.co.uk or keep an eye on your inbox for an authorisation request. GoCardless is a direct debit system fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and means that you never need to worry about forgetting to renew again.  By signing up to this you will help your committee save valuable time in chasing renewals, so please, if you aren’t already signed up, please do!

Don’t forget that if you have any suggestions/comments or would like to be considered for a future Member of the Month feature or you would like to write a business focus piece, please get in touch on mail@issba.co.uk.

Keep well and stay safe!
