Chair Report - October 2017

A snapshot of this month’s ISSBA news from our Chair, Roger Barcham.

RB PhotoThere is certainly a drop in temperature this week but don’t worry, ISSBA has lots going on to keep you going through the winter months!

Our September Meet the Members event on 27th September at the Old Custom House on Ipswich Waterfront was well attended. There has been some lovely feedback - everyone loved the venue and both talks were very enjoyable. Thank you to our sponsors for this event - Hunnaball Funeral Group and St Elizabeth Hospice.

Our panel has now been announced for Anglia Business Spotlight on 25th October at Hintlesham Hall. This promises to be a fantastic event and bookings are already coming in fast so don’t miss out. This is one of our most popular annual events so come along to enjoy an interesting evening finding out about some fantastic local businesses along with networking and a buffet. Don’t forget our special offer for ISSBA members – book 2 places, bring a guest FREE of charge. Thank you to Hintlesham Hall for sponsoring. Click here to see who the lucky panel members are and book your place.

GoCardless is making the renewal process much easier for many of our members. If you haven’t signed up yet, either let us know on mail@issba.co.uk or keep an eye on your inbox for an authorisation request. GoCardless is a direct debit system fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and means that you never need to worry about forgetting to renew again.

Our October business focus article is about overcoming shyness and gaining the confidence for public speaking, something many of us have to do from time to time but is often a source of dread. Thank you to Abbie Thoms at Polyspiral for sharing her story.

Our October Member of the Month is ICO Systems. They have been offering IT support across East Anglia for twenty years so I hope you enjoy finding out more about what they do.

Don’t forget that if you have any suggestions/comments or would like to be considered for a future Member of the Month feature, please get in touch on mail@issba.co.uk.
